Alpine Muffy Baby is designed to protect the extra sensitive hearing of your baby against damaging noise and loud music, for instance at festivals, sports games, fairs, fireworks shows, and races. Muffy Baby is recommended for babies and little children up to 36 months of age. The earmuff has a soft, adjustable no-slip headband that does not exert pressure on the fontanelle. Muffy Baby is lightweight, prevents over-stimulation due to noise, and helps babies and small children sleep well while travelling. Keep your little one safe while taking them along on your adventures.

Protect your baby from noise

Loud sound can be a lot dangerous for babies, every 8th Child has Permanent Hearing Loss! Baby ear muffs limit your infant’s exposure to disturbing sound during the early years. Whether it impairs sleep or potentially damages hearing at busy events, ear protection for babies and toddlers is essential.

Always use the earmuff under adult supervision. Never leave your child unattended, not even for a short time. Make sure you always have visibility on your child, check the position of the earmuffs and the comfort of your child regularly. The hearing of small children is very vulnerable. Loud noise and music can cause permanent hearing damage. Because of this, keep small children as much as possible away from situations and spaces with a lot of noise. Make sure to always wear the earmuffs in noisy environments. Excessive usage time can have adverse long term effects, e.g. due to the pressure on the head. Wear the Muffy Baby for a maximum of 90 minutes without a break, and approximately 3 hours per day in total. When adjusting the headband, make sure it fits snugly but not too tight. The headband should keep the muffs in place, do not make it any tighter than needed. The heads of babies younger than 18 months are vulnerable because of the not yet closed fontanelles. The muffs should be placed onto the ears directly, without any obstructions (e.g. a hat). Check your child regularly to see if the muffs enclose the ears properly. Make sure the muffs stay in place. Beware of the risk of pulling / sliding away, make sure the Muffy Baby never covers the mouth and / or nose. Keep an eye on your child at all times to see if he / she is comfortable. Do not let your child play with the Muffy Baby or stick parts of it in the mouth, it is not a toy. Don’t let the child pull the inside foam out of the muffs and swallow it. Check the earmuffs regularly to ensure they are in proper working condition and store them in their original clean packaging. Earmuffs, and the pads especially, can wear out from use and should be checked for tears or leakage regularly. Putting covers over the earmuffs may influence their acoustic performance. Please note: Always ensure adult supervision when used. Clean the earmuffs with a damp cloth with lukewarm water and mild soap. Only soaps may be used that are not known to be harmful to the wearer. The headband can be washed in the washing machine. Statement: 'The product may be adversely affected by certain chemical substances. Refer to the manufacturer for further information.' Service life of earmuff is 5 years from manufacturing date. The stated life of the product is only an indication. The life of the product depends on many external and uncontrollable factors and should not be considered a warranty. When this device is worn as directed, the level of noise entering a person’s ear is approximated by the differences between the A-weighted environmental noise level and the lesser and greater NRRs. Caution: For predominantly low frequency noise environments in which the difference in the measured C-weighted and A-weighted noise levels (dBCdBA) exceeds 3 dB, the user is directed to the enclosed graph of the variability of noise reduction with noise spectra to determine the level of protection. Not following the user manual instructions can severely harm the earmuff’s service life and its protective capabilities. Alpine Hearing Protection is not liable for any resulting damage. Further information should be sought from the manufacturer. Hereby, Alpine Hearing Protection, declares that the hearing protector Muffy Baby is in compliance with the PPE regulation (EU) 2016/425 and PPE regulation 2016/425 as brought in UK law and amended. Instructions for proper fit

  • The Muffy Baby contains a headband and two muffs, with a separate clip to fix them together.
  • Place the headband over the muffs, place the clips on top.
  • Position the clip over the muff with the band in between.
  • Press one side of the clip until it makes a clicking sound and attaches to the muff. Note the two-step clicking mechanism: One click (A) attaches the clip to the muff, the headband is still free to move. The second click (B) fixes the clip stronger on the muff, fixating the headband as well. Now, click once.
  • Turn the headband in position: the stripe should be aligned with the gap on the clip.
  • When placing the earmuff onto the head: Adjust the headband with Velcro to the size of the head. The band should keep the muffs in place and feel comfortable. Make it snug but not too tight. Make sure the muffs seal the ear completely! The headband should not block the eyes.
  • Fixate the headband onto the muffs when positioned right.
